The future of mobile computing came to life with the new HUAWEI MateBook X Pro, HUAWEI MediaPad M5 Series and the World’s First 3GPP 5G CPE. The company also unveiled its ‘RoadReader’ project – the world’s first driverless car to be driven by an AI-powered smartphone.
HUAWEI Consumer Business Group (CBG) today unveiled the HUAWEI MateBook X Pro, the HUAWEI MediaPad M5 Series and the HUAWEI 5G customer-premises equipment (CPE) – the world’s first commercial terminal device supporting the globally recognized 3GPP telecommunications standard for 5G.HUAWEI marked its debut as the only mobile device manufacturer to use an AI-powered smartphone to drive a car through its ‘RoadReader’ project.
Andrew Garrihy, Chief Marketing Officer, HUAWEI said: “Our smartphones are already outstanding at object recognition. We wanted to see if in a short space of time we could teach it to not only drive a car, but to use its AI capabilities to see certain objects, and be taught to avoid them.The ‘RoadReader’ project pushes the boundaries of HUAWEI’s object recognition technology and puts the learning capabilities, speed and performance of its AI-powered devices to the test.
